You call it impatience, I call it ambition.

02/17/2014 by Katie

Why is impatience viewed as a negative?

I could tell you the exact moment in life when I became an impatient person; September 2008. I went through several major life events, completely changing the way I viewed my life. I made a point at that moment to live every single day to the fullest and quit living my life to other people’s ideals.  It was time that I began my life, my own life, the one I wanted to lead and one that would make ME fulfilled and proud!

Like most people, I’ve watched too many friends and family die young, leaving a broken family and an unfinished bucket list. I don’t want to be one of those people. When I’m standing in front of Gods glorious gates, I don’t want to have any un-kept business, unspoken words or unfinished goals.  Considering God chooses our time here on earth and we are not guaranteed a tomorrow, why pretend we do?

I understand their circumstances that hold goals stagnant, however, if you have means to tackle it, by all means, grab that bull by the horns!

A very special person once told me “everybody wants success but very few are willing to lose sleep for it.”  I love this saying, and I remind myself about it daily.

If there’s a will, there’s a way!

When it comes to the concept of running a self-sufficient homestead, “impatience” gets me every time. I have 1,000,001 goals on my list for our families’ homestead. And yes, I want them all done today, like right now, actually.  That way I can check them off my list and continue on to the next order of business. Am I willing to loose sleep over it?  Absolutely!

I’m very aware I cannot do it all today but we just really don’t know what tomorrow may, or may not, bring. So for now… My bucket list is filled to the rim and my ideals are at their prime.  This farm girl is ready to conquer!

WELCOME TO THE FARM

Hi, I’m Katie. Our family lives on our fourth generation family farm here in beautiful Idaho. We milk jersey cows, raise pastured heritage pigs and poultry, scottish highlanders for beef and a few sheep for fiber.  Our journey is about healing the body through sustainable agriculture.  After being diagnosed with a autoimmune disease several years ago, I saw a need to change the way we think about diseases in today’s modern world.

Our farm prides ourselves on selling the best meat and dairy possibly.  We do not use ANY gmo’s, corn or soy in our animal feed.  Our critters graze on fresh green pasture and are fed a locally grown, locally milled grain ration.

We are not offering farm direct pickups or tours at this time.

Our dairy and egg products are available at Pilgrims Market in CDA Idaho.  We do not ship raw dairy.

Grassfed Beef, lamb and pastured pork are available by the half or whole.
