Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 4 Servings
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried dill weed
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Method

  1. Add all the ingredients to a small mixing bowl.
  2. Stir until the herbs and spices are evenly combined.
  3. For a finer seasoning, pulse the mixture briefly in a small food processor or spice grinder.
  4. Transfer the ranch seasoning to a clean, dry airtight jar.
  5. Store in a cool, dark spice cabinet and shake before each use.
Homemade Ranch Dip
  1. 2 tablespoons homemade ranch seasoning
  2. 1 cup mayonnaise
  3. 1/2 cup sour cream
  4. Combine the seasoning, mayonnaise and sour cream in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving. Taste and adjust the salt if necessary.
Homemade Ranch Dip
  1. Prepare the ranch dip as directed. Gradually whisk in approximately 1/4 cup of milk or buttermilk, adding more as needed to reach your preferred consistency.

Notes

  • Two tablespoons of homemade ranch seasoning can replace approximately one packet of dry ranch seasoning in most recipes.
  • Shake the jar before measuring because the ingredients naturally settle.
  • Use the dry seasoning within six months for the best flavor.
  • Refrigerate prepared ranch dip or dressing and use it within five days.
  • This recipe does not contain powdered buttermilk.
